Consequesnly, the ideal time to visit the fascinating hill site is from April till October. It is dubbed as a cold desert, though, still has the mystical beauty that is incomparable to any other hill station of Himachal.

(located 350kms). Shimla was the former summer capital of British India, set amidst the snow
capped Shivalik Mountains. Which offers some of the most stunning views of the mighty

After breakfast at hotel we will set off at around 9:00A.M. Today it is a drive of 9-10 hrs, driving
through the Charabra, Kufri, beautiful villages of Fagu, Theog, Matiana, Narkanda and Rampur. En
route we will have many comfort breaks and will visit the Apple orchards and Hattu peak (3,400
metres/ 11,154 feet) at Narkanda, from where you can have a spectacular view of the mighty
Central Himalayas and will also visit the traditional wodden carved temple of Godess Kali on the
top. We will also stop by a small lake on the way to Hattu Peak. Later on we continue our drive to
Sarahan via Rampur. After some rest you may wish to take a walk to Kalpa village and the nearby
Roghi village. These villages are covered with thick pine forests and are famous for apricots and
apples. The finest view of the Mt. Kinner Kailash Mountain (6000 metres) can be had from here.

Today is the day where we enter the Spiti Valley. The road from Kalpa initially descends to the
Indo-Tibet Highway and continues on the left bank of Sutlej till Khab, the confluence of Spiti and
Sutlej. We leave Sutlej behind and continue upstream of Spiti. Suddenly you can see the
landscape has transformed with barren mountains all around. After an hour climb we reach Nako,
another little village situated at an altitude of 3800m. The main attraction of this village is the
artificial lake, which in the late spring is a sight to behold with pink flowers bloom all around the
lake. After a brief stop at the lake we descend down to the river bed and continue upstream of Spiti
crossing several villages Chango, Shalkar, Sumdo, Hurling; before we enter the town of Tabo.
Chos Khor Gompa is a 1020 year monastery located in the quaint village of Tabo. The monastery
is one of the most ornately decorated depicting the life of the Buddha Pantheon covering its entire
walls. You can spend enough time here talking to the monks trying to understand what a thangka
painting is. Spend your day relaxing in the

After breakfast, check-out form the hotel and get driven to Kaza, you will be entering into the
Spiti Valley through a traditional mischievous Sumdoh. Continue your drive into the rugged and
arid topography and take a bottom halt to discover Gue. On arrival at Kaza, check-in at your
hotel. First visit of the day will be the famous Ki Monastry. Located at 4120m, 14km from Kaza on
the Kaza to Kibber Road, the car will stop at the base of the monastery hill for the ultimate photo
opportunity of this remarkable structure. Then we will move farther down the valley to the
picturesque village of Kibber. Kibber is one of the biggest villages in Spiti, located at an altitude of
4250 meters. From Kibber it is a short trek to Chicham Village, located across a sharp and
precipitous canyon, traversable by thrilling wire cross-ways (known locally as the Jula) but also
reachable keeping both feet on the ground! Overnight stay at hotel in Kaza.

On the sixth day of this Spiti Valley tour, we drive to some of the highest inhabited regions of the
world. The highest village in Asia, Komik, which literally translates to eye of a snow cock, is
situated at a height of 4513 meters. This farming village has a population of 84 people, living in
utter isolation, cut-off from the rest of the world for most parts of the year. Later, we drive to Hikkim
where we visit the world highest post office in the world. If possible, you might even meet the post-
master and hear his stories. After sending out a postcard, we drive to Langza. Langza village is
situated at an altitude of 4400 meters and belongs to the Sakyapa sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
Langza houses a population of 137 in 33 households. Once you are here, you can walk around the
village and visit the ancient Lang (Temple) which is estimated to be around 1000 years old. At
Langza This centuries – old gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors and at one time
also acted as a fort. It houses valuable thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit
the small gompa at Kibber, 9 kms further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m has the distinction of being the

Day we take the road to Kaza till we reach Sichling village, from here the road winds up
to the Dhangkar monastery, which was once the capital of Spiti, under King’s rule.
Dhang means cliff and kar means fort, the fort situated on the edge of a cliff. Dhangkar
Gompa or monastery is one of the architectural master pieces of the Buddhist yore.
Built 800 years ago this is one of the endangered archaeological sites in the world.
Experience the old world feeling of the Dhangkar monaster. Drive to Pin Valley – a
tributary of the Spiti river, ‘Pin’ originates deep in the Trans Himalayan mountains
leading to one of the ancient trade routes and popular trek of Bhaba Pass. It is also
home to the magnificent Snow Leopard and several Trans Himalayan animals and rare
birds protected under the National Parks of India. You’ll drive through this beautiful
valley up to last village of Mudh.Nighat Stay At Pin Valley
Today is the day where we enter the Spiti Valley. The road from Kalpa

Drive to Chitkul, the last Indian village on the Indo-Tibet border. Explore
the surroundings of Chitkul, which is also known worldwide to produce the
best quality potatoes. Wangtu bridge to Sarahan where you will rest for the
night. If there is time in the afternoon In Sarahan explore the famous Bird Park
or visit the Bhima Kali temple one of the most important temples of Kali in India where there use to
be human sacrifice before 18th Century Overnight stay At Sarahan

civilization through NH22 along with the stream Sutlej. Depending on
reaching time, you will explore the town. The evening will be free for your
